CPF opens feed mill in Laos

Thai integrator Charoen Pokphand Foods has opened a feedmill in the Laotian capital of Vientiane. Dr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, mayor of Vientiane City, hosted the opening of the feedmill, witnessed by the Thai ambassador Wiboon Khusakul and Adirek Sripratak, president and CEO of CPF.
In addition, the signing ceremony of leasing land and Dong Ban animal farm was held in the morning session between Vientiane city and C.P. Laos Company Limited.

Expansion plans

Charoen Pokphand Foods’ CEO revealed that an investment in Laos is a part of CPF’s expansion plan in Asia. The company plans to run integrated businesses including feedmills and livestock farms as well as aquaculture businesses and further processing business in accordance to distributing in Laos and exporting to foreign countries.
“Charoen Pokphand Foods received a trust from The Lao People’s Democratic Republic to leasing its land and animal farm for 20 years to run our businesses. For this gratitude, I would like to thank the Lao PDR’s government and the Vientiane city that extended very warm welcome to us.”
“CPF will bring advanced technology, useful knowledge in producing quality meat and beneficial techniques in aquaculture to Lao’ agriculturists. Consequently, it will definitely create more jobs and better living for Lao’ people.”

High quality

“Moreover, Laotians will consume high quality, nutritional and safe protein sources as well as will earn more income on export. With CPF’s determination, company and every employee have to pay back to the mother’s land, not only Thailand, but also in everywhere Charoen Pokphand Foods has been invested in,” said Sripatak
C.P. Laos has a registered capital of US $3 million. Initially, the company will operate a feed mill on the area of 100,000 square metre of land, at it’s capacity of 6,000 tonnes/ month, its animal (swine and chicken) farming businesses on 322,000 square metre of land, and raising fish farm.

Expanding business

CPF has been expanding it businesses into many countries around the world comprising of Vietnam, Turkey, China, India, Malaysia, Russia, Laos and the Philippines.
